A view of the Imperial Airways Africa service from the ground
My grandfather was George ‘Jock’ Halliday who worked for ten months at Faradge to repair, and re-float Corsair, after damming the river Dungu, a task for which he was honoured with an MBE. Such an amazing time being involved with the flying boats. And this particular story was one which I only learned about much later in my life.
So many things we learn about our parents and grandparents much later!
